This seems like a solid book and a major reference source for Islam and Jihad (have to admit I knew nothing about the USS Sullivan attempted attack or the number of terrorists tied to hazardous chemical hauling or the sheer number of attempted attacks that were foiled. Interesting, very interesting).

Thank goodness for people like Emerson and his group. Vigilant Americans who work outside the government beltlines and have stepped up and are working to keep us secure. They are doing the right thing even if many don't appreciate them, support their work or honor their efforts to keep us informed and safe the way they deserve. I say to them, keep up the good work.

Liked your write up. Covered it all. Nice.

Bridget,

Sorry for spelling your name wrong. Just realized I typed in the way my cousin spells her name, yours is different. Ooppss!

Hello TJ,

Almost no one spells my name right so, no problem! :-))))

I'm pleased to see you recognize the work this organization has done and will continue to do for the U.S. and it's public. Especially Mr. Steve Emerson. Get the book, I think you'll find it extremely informative. It will no doubt find a good home in your reference library and your mind.

Thanks for the feedback and thoughts.

Regards,

jon lee

does mr. emerson bother to note in his jihad book about all the groups and organizations around the world who are actively working to promote the wonder of islam and the harmony of this faith? not everyone is hoping to kill people of other faiths. most muslims live in peace with their worldwide neighbors. this book like the other you reviewed seems to pray on peoples worst fears. that's disappointing. i would find nothing of interest in this book since it is so one sided. yes, there might be some committed to atrocities but not the majority. this book does not address the positives of islam and muslims only the negative stereotypes.

Hello Jon,

The thing that stands out to me in your feedback above is that you are oppossed to this book without ever reading it. You have dismissed it lock, stock and barrel. You have decided that since it does not jive with your current view point on Islam that it could not possibly contain one iota of information or single fact that could be relevant. Seems to me that you are dismissing Mr. Emerson and his book in the same fashion that you ask others to not dismiss certain parts of Islam and the Muslim world. Your tunnel vision is showing through.

I re-affirm my stand from earlier. You may not like what this book contains, but denial and avoidance does not make the problem go away. If the current state of Islam was as postive as you would like portrayed, we would not need organizations, groups or men like this.

Emerson, a Jew who gets it
A perspective of a moderate Muslim

At the risk of sounding anti-Semitic, I want to say this: either American Jews are completely clueless about the internal struggle inside Islam or they are so cowardly, that they are even afraid to voice their opinion. Or maybe it's a combination of both.

Every time there is a development that involves radical Islam, be it a Mayor of New York attending an Islamist parade, DOJ's officials attending an Islamist conference, or a protester being sued for having the balls to expose an Islamist-sponsored event at an amusement park, the American Jewish community is as quiet as a church mouse. It's like it is not even there.

The effect of this silence is devastating. Not for the Jewish community, not yet. That time is still to come. The silence affects the American Muslim community. Every time moderate Muslims are ignored and Islamists are legitimized (by either direct support from government representatives or silent support of the ADL), radicals gain ground. In the current PC climate, moderate Muslims have pretty much no choice but to keep their mouths shut.

Luckily for us, not everyone in the Jewish community is like that. There are some Jews that are speaking out. One of them is Steven Emerson, who has been warning the West about the dangers of Islamic fundamentalism since before PanAm 103. Most of his current work is focused on exposing the radicals masquerading as the moderates – those radicals who are embraced by the DOJ and the Pentagon, by the mayor of New York Bloomberg (Rudy would never get into bed with terrorist supporters) and the Treasury Department, by the State Department and the Department of Homeland Security, by the Congress and the White House.

There is a war of ideas within Islam, and moderate Muslims are losing. Most of Muslim clergy and Muslim establishment are paid for by the Wahhabis. Moderate Muslims are being run out of Mosques and community centers, and in many cases are physically threatened. Moderate Muslims have no place in the media or public debate, because the place reserved for Muslims is filled by Islamic radicals, who attempt to make criticizing anything Islamic a taboo. According to the Islamists, a Muslim can do no wrong.
1. When a non-Muslim criticizes Islam or Muslims, he/she is an Islamophobe.
2. When a Muslim criticizes Islam or Muslim, he/she is not a real Muslim, therefore see #1.

This is a tactic used by "moderate" Muslims, the darlings of the government and the media. But how can you call someone who praises bin Laden, or has ties to Hamas, or calls for the elimination of Israel, or wants to replace the Constitution with the Koran a moderate? They are anything but moderates, however nobody except for a few people like Steven Emerson seems to notice that. But even when the Emersons of America appeal to the public, they are often being dismissed as alarmists and racists. Well, they are anything, but. You don't have to be a clairvoyant to predict the future when it comes to expansion of radical Islam and extinction of moderate Muslims. All you need to do is get your heads out of the sand.

Why our government is so forgiving and forgetful when it comes to individuals or organizations with known terrorist ties and anti-American views is beyond me. Why the Jewish leaders are so timid when it comes to the subject of radical Islam is incomprehensible.

I thank God every day for people like Steven Emerson, because they are the last glimmer of hope for moderate Muslims.

Hello K.M. - Muslims Against Sharia,

Welcome to our site. Thanks for your entry above. I checked out your web site and it appears that your posting above is what is posted on your site as well.

We appreciate your feedback on this important issue dealing with radical Islam and the extremists within that religion. Many of the points you noted above are ones that I have covered in many of my book reviews at this site by authors such as; Melanie Phillips, Mark Steyn, Tony Blankley, Brigitte Gabriel, Nonie Darwish and Robert Spencer - authors who have spent considerable time disucssing the Muslim, Islam and radical and extremist issues around the world today. Many also touch on the connection to Israel and the need by extremists to once again eliminate once race from the face of the earth. This time though, the dislike, mistrust and hated goes beyond one country, one people and one faith. It touches on everyone that is not Muslim or Muslim enough.

Until all our government officials, the entire Jewish and Christian community and even those who would classify themselves as moderate Muslims identify this problem, understand this problem, and become devoted to the proper solution, we will not defeat this deadly enemy once and for all. Until we do, we remain terribly vulnerable to them and they end up the victors in this serious journey in the fight for life. I for one won't stand by and watch and say and do nothing as another living graveyard is estalished before our very eyes (as happened in WWII for Jews, Christians, Catholics and the like).

Stay strong. Stay informed. Stay involved.

Regards,
