MAYORAL RACE COVERAGE

FYI, folks.  Television_cartoon_picture

WXMI-TV FOX 17 (cable channel 5) will air interviews with the candidates for G.R. mayor -- George Heartwell, Jackie Miller, Jim Rinck, and Rick Tormala -- tonight and tomorrow night on the ten o'clock news program. 

Also, WOOD Radio (AM 1300) The "Rick & Scott Show" will feature hour-long interviews with TormalaRadio_old_fashioned_cartoon_graphic on Tuesday morning and Heartwell on Wednesday morning starting at 10:00 a.m.  We don't have information yet if the other candidates are scheduled to appear on WOOD's morning show.

UPDATE - The candidates came together one more time on 8/1 at Riverside park for a Democracy for America candidate picnic. Two media outlets attended the event: WWMT Channel 3 (from Kalamazoo) and Kaomi Goetz from Michigan Radio (NPR). NOT ONE GRAND RAPIDS REPORTER SHOWED UP! Not even Jim Harger of the GR PRESS who has been the most vigilant during this campaign! PATHETIC!

We tried to post updates of events when we were told about them by the candidates themselves or if we found out via other media outlets.

We did not know about the picnic plans or we would have been happy to let our readers know about the event.
